Drone Technology:  Blacktop Dr Art 

The Audacity Performing Arts Project is pleased to introduce our pilot program “Drone Technology:  Blacktop DrArt”, an innovative one of a kind STEAM program that combines drone technology with large-scale visual arts education.  Inspired by French visual artist-director JR, this program transforms traditional learning environments by enabling students to create expansive chalk art installations while exploring drone photography fundamentals.

This hands-on program delivers concrete educational outcomes across multiple domains:

• technical literacy through hands-on drone operation and video production

• artistic development through collaborative design projects

• enhanced spatial reasoning skills through aerial photography

Working at the intersection of art and technology, participating students will gain a broad and experiential understanding of how to implement complex visions across multiple disciplines. 

Our comprehensive implementation package includes:

•  curriculum documentation

•  safety protocols

•  professional artistic collaboration with school site faculty

Implementation requires minimal infrastructure: 

• a designated blacktop area

• drone operation zones

• classroom space for instruction
